Meet The People Behind Our beers

Jeremiah Marsden
Owner

Jeremiah Marsden, affectionately known as Jerry, is an entrepreneur and chemist with a PhD from the University of Oregon. After nearly two decades at Cascade Chemistry, where he climbed the ranks from researcher to president and owner, Jerry sold the business with an eye toward an early retirement filled with small projects and relaxation, but his entrepreneurial spirit and longtime homebrewing hobby soon drew him back into the business world, where he saw a perfect opportunity to lead Claim 52 Brewing. Day-to-day, he sets the business's strategic direction and ensures the brewery's operations run smoothly. He also enjoys helping with quality control at the brewery, frequently sampling new brews to ensure they meet our standards.

Jerry's favorite beers include complex Belgian ales, easy-drinking IPAs, and rich, boozy barrel-aged stouts. A craftsman at heart, he enjoys woodworking in his spare time and personally crafted our tasting trays. We’re sure you’ll find more of his work as unique features around the bar soon.

Aaron Brussat
Head Brewer

Aaron Brussat's professional beer journey began in 2010 as a beer stocker at the legendary Bier Stein Bottleshop & Pub, weaving through roles from beer journalist to brewer. As the Head of Brewing Innovation at Claim 52, Aaron treats the brewery as his test kitchen, perfecting traditional favorites like crispy Kölschs, fruit-forward Hazy IPAs, and complex Belgian ales. Despite all the cleaning, he loves the messy middle of developing new recipes. You'll often see him at the Claim 52 Kitchen leading educational initiatives like 'Beer Flight School' to help make beer fun and accessible for everyone.

Known for his whimsical and joyful approach, Aaron's motto, 'It's just beer,' always lightens the mood, especially when he compares himself to an Oompa Loompa during Thicc and Stuffed canning sessions when the brewery is filled with sweet aromas reminiscent of a magical candy factory.

Jeremy Zollman
General Manager

With a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Oregon and over 25 years of experience in food service, retail, and sales, Jeremy is the driving force behind our operations. As our General Manager, he seamlessly coordinates activities between the brewery and the Kitchen, embodying the spirit of teamwork. Whether stepping in to wash dishes or making beer deliveries, Jeremy's hands-on approach ensures that every part of our operation runs smoothly.

Jeremy's beer preferences are as varied as his skills. From the deep and intricate layers of barrel-aged stouts and the bold, hoppy punch of dank West Coast IPAs to the nuanced tartness of Belgian-style sours, his experience ensures that he can always help you find a beer from our extensive tap list to match your tastes.

Bre Goulette
Senior Brewer

Bre Goulette's brewing career began with our friends at Plank Town,
where she worked her way up to Head Brewer, plus a summer stint at Three
Legged Crane. In 2020, she earned the Glen Falconer Foundation
Scholarship for the World Brewing Academy's Concise Course in Brewing
Technology at Siebel, ranking third in her class.

As Senior Brewer at Claim 52, Bre does a little of everything—brewing,
quality control, packaging, kegging, and, of course, cleaning. Bre
enjoys bitters, porters, and wheat ales but loves brewing IPAs, lagers,
and barrel-aged beers. One style she's eager to tackle? Gose. She jokes
that brewery life comes with quirks—like canning day beer showers,
leaving her looking like a Jackson Pollock painting. And when things get
hectic, she dances through the chaos—literally.

EDDIE Conway
Sales Manager

With a career spanning customer service, logistics,  and sales, Eddie
Conway knows how to keep things moving—literally. He started driving
commercially at 19, which was the start of the path that led him to
Claim 52. As Sales Manager, Eddie's mission is to grow sales, build new
relationships, and reinvigorate past ones, all while making sure Claim
52's beer reaches more people than ever. He's also the go-to guy for
keeping the brewery's logistics in check, from deliveries to
forklifts—and when things go sideways, he's the "break glass in case of
emergency" guy.

While he pleads the fifth on brewery mischief, he admits to having a
jukebox in his head at all times, a talent that keeps the team
entertained and morale high. His advice to people who haven't tried our
beers? Don't judge a book by its cover—every Claim 52 beer tells a new
story. And whether you're here for the community, the fun, or just a
little bit of mischief, Eddie ensures you'll feel right at home.
